Meet Ricky

Hi, I'm Ricky Knoblock, the founder of Tech Checkup.

I've loved technology my whole life. I started buying, selling and repairing phones when I was 14. Today I'm 28, with ten years of experience in wireless retail sales.

In that time I've seen firsthand the problems that frustrate Android users every day. I built Tech Checkup so you can get honest, patient help from someone who knows phones, without the sales pitch.

How it works

Getting help takes three simple steps.

  1. Tap “Get help”

    Open the Tech Checkup app and press the big Get help button.

  2. Ricky connects with you

    Ricky gives you a call or connects to your phone so he can see what is going on and walk you through it.

  3. You stay in control

    You can hide your screen at any time. The visit ends whenever you say so.

Seeing pop-up ads or virus warnings?

Those scary messages often come from a problem app hiding on your phone.

The free app check looks at the list of apps on your phone and points out any that are known to cause trouble, like apps that show pop-up ads, fake virus warnings, or drain your battery.

It's free. There is no charge for the check. If a problem app is found, we tell you what it is in plain words. You decide what happens next.

Tip: Never call a phone number shown in a pop-up warning. Real companies do not warn you that way.

Live far away from Mom or Dad? Tech Checkup gives you peace of mind.

Set it up for them

Install the app on your parent's Android phone during your next visit, or walk them through it on the phone. It only takes a few minutes. Show them the big Get help button, and that's it.

One purchase per family member

Pay once for each family member who needs help. Pricing is coming soon. There's no monthly bill. When they get stuck, a patient, friendly person helps them right away, and they stay in control the whole time.

With a Tech Checkup Business plan, your business (for example, a store location) can use the app to reach out to customers and help them with their phones. Customers stay in control the same way: they choose to share their screen and can stop at any time.

You set your own prices for the help you give. Your customers pay you right in the app, and Tech Checkup keeps a small app fee on in-app payments.
